Action1 5 Documentation 5 Action1 Agent Installation

Action1 Agent Installation

Action1 agent is a lightweight, non-intrusive component used to securely communicate with Action1 Cloud.

  • It is distributed as an MSI file and operates as a service on Windows endpoints.
  • It is distributed as a PKG file and operates as a daemon on macOS endpoints.
  • It is distributed as a DEB file (for Debian/Ubuntu distributions) or RPM file (for Red Hat/SUSE/Fedora and other distributions) and operates as a daemon on Linux endpoints.

The device where the agent runs is added to the Endpoints view in the Action1 console as a managed endpoint.

NOTE: For the detailed list of supported operating systems, refer to this article.

Availability note: Support for Linux distributions other than Debian/Ubuntu is rolling out in stages and may not yet be available in all regions.

The agent securely connects to Action1 Cloud using embedded information about your organization that includes the authentication certificate for mutual authentication and a private encryption key, specific to your organization.
